# Dual-screen workstations, set up for the person using them.

> We choose, install and configure workstations for offices and professional firms: PCs, monitors, arms and docking, the same set-up for everyone and the screen in the right position for whoever spends the day at it.

## One screen and a printer that's always on.

You compare a balance sheet with a bank statement by switching windows, you print to see two documents side by side, the monitor sits too low on the desk and the chair doesn't adjust. It's time lost every day and, in the long run, tired backs and eyes. Often you don't need to change everything: just the right monitor, in the right position.

## We don't deliver boxes. We put them to work.

For an accounting firm, with a Chamber of Commerce digital voucher, we supplied four workstations with Intel i5, 16 GB of RAM and NVMe SSDs, extra 24-inch monitors for dual-screen work and a business server with RAID. In another office we replaced PCs only where needed and added 24-inch monitors on VESA arms, some dual, with wired keyboards. Then we look after the workstations through our helpdesk: the people who set them up are the ones who answer when something goes wrong.

## From site visit to ready workstation.

1. **Site visit and inventory.** We look at how you work: which programs you use, how many documents you keep open at once, who works on a laptop and who on a desktop. We take an inventory of the PCs and decide what to keep, what to upgrade and what to replace, only where needed.
2. **Choosing the hardware.** PCs with a processor suited to the work, enough RAM and NVMe SSDs; 24-inch monitors for dual screens, single or dual VESA arms, a docking station or USB-C monitor to connect a laptop with one cable, wired keyboards and mice where reliability matters.
3. **Standard configuration.** Every PC starts from the same configuration: operating system, Office and Microsoft 365, printers, network folders, protection. Where you have Microsoft 365 we enrol devices with Intune and Autopilot, so a new PC sets itself up at first sign-in.
4. **Mounting and ergonomics.** We mount arms and monitors and adjust them with the person who uses them: top of the screen at eye level or slightly below, about an arm's length away, no glare from windows and lamps, an adjustable chair. These are the requirements of Annex XXXIV of Italian D.Lgs. 81/2008.
5. **Handover and data transfer.** We move files, profiles, email signatures and bookmarks from the old PC, check printers and programs with each person and leave an updated inventory. Disks of retired PCs are securely wiped before they leave the office.

## Workstations ready at first sign-in.

## People who spend the day in front of a screen.

- **Professional firms**: Accountants, payroll consultants, lawyers: accounts, tax returns and case files side by side on two screens.
- **Administrative offices**: Management software on one side, email and documents on the other, no printing to compare.
- **Front desks and reception**: Workstations on all day, where one window fewer means a patient or customer served sooner.
- **People who also work away from the office**: Laptop in the bag and, at the desk, one cable for screens, network and power.

## Before new workstations.

### Is a second screen really worth it?

For anyone working on several documents at once, yes: they compare without switching windows, copy data between programs and print less. For someone using one program full screen, a larger monitor may be enough. We assess it person by person.

### What does Italian law say about display screen workstations?

Title VII of D.Lgs. 81/2008 and Annex XXXIV set requirements for screen, keyboard, desk, seat, lighting and glare. Art. 175 provides, for people working continuously at a screen, a break or change of activity of 15 minutes every 2 hours. We set up workstations to these requirements; the risk assessment remains with the employer and their health and safety officer.

### Do we have to replace every PC?

No. Often adding RAM or an SSD and a second monitor is enough. We only replace PCs that can no longer keep up or no longer receive security updates.

### Does it work with laptops?

Yes: with a docking station or a USB-C monitor the laptop connects to screens, network, keyboard and power with a single cable, and unplugs at the end of the day.

### Can digitalisation vouchers be used?

When a call is open, yes: the accounting firm set-up described above was funded that way. We help you check whether the expense qualifies.
