A network that holds up, and that someone documented.

We design and install networks for offices, clinics and residential facilities in Rome: cabling and racks, UniFi switches and access points, separate VLANs, firewalls and VPN. And we leave documentation anyone can read.

The problem

It works as long as nobody touches anything.

Unlabelled cables, the provider's router with its Wi-Fi on next to three access points bought at different times, a guest network that can see the printers and cameras. When something stops, nobody knows where to start, and every call-out begins with an hour spent working out how the network is built. In a clinic or a facility with residents, a network that's down stops everyone's work.

How it works

From site visit to a documented network.

  1. 01

    Site visit and survey

We visit the site and see what's already there: lines, cabinets, cables, devices, firewalls. And who uses the network: staff, guests, medical devices, cameras, phones. If the network exists and is causing trouble, we start with a diagnosis, including firewalls already in place such as WatchGuard or FortiGate.

  2. 02

    Design

We design the network: where the rack and access points go, which VLANs are needed and what can talk to what, how remote access works, what happens if the line drops. Where fibre doesn't reach, we look at alternatives such as Starlink, including two lines that back each other up.

  3. 03

    Cabling and rack

Wall or floor cabinet, patch panel, numbered sockets and every port tested before we sign off. A cable tested today is one less fault to hunt for tomorrow.

  4. 04

    Devices and configuration

Managed PoE switches, UniFi access points and gateways run from a single controller, VLANs separating staff, guests, medical devices, cameras and phones, firewalls and VPN for remote access. Wi-Fi coverage is checked room by room.

  5. 05

    Documentation and handover

Network diagram, list of sockets and devices, VLANs and firewall rules in a document that stays with you and helps whoever works on the network next. Then we remain your point of contact for support and changes.

What we deliver

A network you can read.

When we're done you know what's in the cabinet, where every cable goes and who can reach what.

Who it's for

Where the network can't go down.

Clinics and outpatient centres

Separate networks for medical devices, management software, phones and waiting-room Wi-Fi.

Residential and care facilities

Coverage across several floors, internal phones and room call systems, even where fibre doesn't reach.

Offices and professional firms

Workstations, printers, servers and secure access for people working off-site.

Companies with several sites

The same configuration at every site, VPN links between sites and management from a single console.

Why Cloudfactory

Installation takes a day. The network lasts years.

Since 2011 we have looked after the infrastructure of companies and healthcare providers, with more than 110 servers and 320 domains under management. For us a network doesn't end at installation: we configure it with whoever will manage it in mind, which is often us, and connect it to everything else: servers, NAS, cameras, email and phones.

FAQ

Before we pull cables.

Can the network be rebuilt without stopping work?

In most cases, yes. We prepare the rack and devices in advance and switch over while you're closed, in the evening or at the weekend, with a plan to roll back if something goes wrong.

Why UniFi?

Because switches, access points and gateways are managed from a single controller, updated in an orderly way and monitored remotely. It isn't the only option: where there's already a WatchGuard or FortiGate firewall, we assess whether to keep and integrate it rather than replace it.

What are VLANs for?

They split one physical network into separate networks: guests get internet but can't see the management software, cameras don't go out to the internet, medical devices sit on their own. If a device is compromised, the problem stays within its network.

What if fibre doesn't reach us?

We look at alternatives such as fixed wireless or Starlink. In a residential facility served only by a 6 Mbit ADSL line, we installed two Starlink dishes on two VLANs, each backing up the other.
